Members bustedlifter Posted May 18, 2011 Members Report Posted May 18, 2011 I would like to know where I can get a good amount of "Leather Glow" or a formula for making my own.
King's X Posted May 18, 2011 Report Posted May 18, 2011 I would recommend contacting Standing Bear Leather Store in California. Ask for Sandi, she should be able to get you connected with a supply, supplier or direct you. Maybe someone else on this forum will give you a better option. Happy Carving!
Members whinewine Posted May 19, 2011 Members Report Posted May 19, 2011 Contact Springfield- they have leather glow very similar to the old version from the '70s- much, much nicer than the current stuff tandy is now selling. I don't have a catalog handy, so I don't know if they have it in quarts or not.
Moderator Art Posted May 19, 2011 Moderator Report Posted May 19, 2011 Don't know what you mean by a "good amount", 5 gal is a good amount to me, some folks a 55 gal drum might suffice, I have buddies who buy methyl methacrylate in 5500 gal batches. LCI in Dallas Texas may be able to help as they make a lot of private label leather coatings. Art I would like to know where I can get a good amount of "Leather Glow" or a formula for making my own.
Members bustedlifter Posted May 20, 2011 Author Members Report Posted May 20, 2011 (edited) Don't know what you mean by a "good amount", 5 gal is a good amount to me, some folks a 55 gal drum might suffice, I have buddies who buy methyl methacrylate in 5500 gal batches. LCI in Dallas Texas may be able to help as they make a lot of private label leather coatings. Art I was being a bit ambiguous because I was wanting to possibly see how much I could get and for how much. At any rate, 5500 gallon batches would not only create a storage problem but a financial one as well. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. Edited May 20, 2011 by bustedlifter
