Plain Black Seat.

This is my third one of these this year. They seem to be popular. The leather is non toolable. The surface of the leather and look of the finished product look like a perfect match to the

stock Harley Davidson leather....except this is much thicker. Working with it reminds me of holding a sheet of rubber rather than leather. But the results are very nice looking.

well with the title I was expecting to appreciate the craftsmanship but not really dig the black seat but I actually really like it. please stop doing a good job on those black seats. They may catch on and then someone is going to take the couch off their bagger and want that same look.

A real slick looking seat! Maybe a few of these will give you a break from the tooling. What is the type of leather if not toolable? Upholstery? What ounce is it also?

The Tandy manager here in Cincy said that it was actually Veg tanned, factory dyed. I doubt that is correct because you CAN NOT begin to tool this stuff. I tried to mark the back with my makers mark stamp and could not scratch the surface using a 16 oz maul. Wicked hard surface on the leather. The leather its self is rather stretchy and limp until you try to stamp it. It is 6 oz.
