Ian Report post Posted May 31, 2008 Finished up this seat last night just in time for a show this afternoon. My first attempt at airbrushing, apart from just regular dyeing, so I'm not too thrilled with it, but the owner liked it, so I didn't point out the flaws. rdb Report post Posted May 31, 2008 As a Irish Boston Boy, I think it's a thing of Beauty... I always liked that type of saddle, with the sides...What flaws! Picky Picky...lol
TomSwede Report post Posted May 31, 2008 Looks great so I just agree with Alex, picky picky but it's a good thing to be just that. Basketweave looks nice and even, I admire that but then again, my stamp doesn't sit flat so very difficult. Craftools are just great with that;-) (getting 'em f up) Tom

Picky Picky...lolThanks Dave - that seat was quite a project - molded the pan on the bike, then each little thing like the leprachaun, doing the skirt etc. I was very happy to drop it off finally.Looks great so I just agree with Alex, picky picky but it's a good thing to be just that. Just went to Tandy and picked up some other background tools. Can't wait to try them

Ian Report post Posted June 2, 2008 (edited) Ian,The seat looks great, can you explain the construction of the seat....how is the skirt added? And how does everything go together.... Thanks, Dave Theobald David, as best as I can explain it here is that the skirt and side panel are the same on the seam line. The skirt is glued to the edge and then the top piece is sewn overlapping the side. Probably doesnt make sense in the telling. Anyway, the top is Veg, the sides and bottom (that you cant see) are 2/3 oz chrome and the skirt is 4/5 chrome with the inlay on 2/3 veg. Thanks Shirly, Beave and Jammon. whinewine Report post Posted June 2, 2008 Begosh & begorrah, looks fine, Ian! Keep it up. (Last night, my son, his fiancee & I went to see a performance of Gaelic Storm... Good, good performance. If you like contemporary Celtic music, they're a band to see.[they were apparently featured in the movie, Titanic]) russ
