Contributing Member Ferg Posted August 17, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted August 17, 2011 I am guessing it might be a upholstery/canvas machine. Doesn't look like a leather sewer. If there is a model number on it anywhere GOOGLE. There are literally millions of Singers out there and lots of information on them. ferg anyone give me an idea what I should ask for it? Quote

Contributing Member Ferg Posted August 18, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted August 18, 2011 (edited) I like to find info that folks say they can't find. Value appears to be all over the place topping out at about $900. Here is the manual for it. Description: yeah I've goodled it I not found another one like it yet. I posted a reply to this about 3 hours ago don't know where it went Try this link again. http://parts.singerc.../IPinstManuals/ As for the price I would double what I paid for it. It will sew 3/4" of leather it uses a 7x3 needle it if it is like this Amish guys down the road it will sew the 415 thread. The bobbin is like 1 1/2" in diameter. An Amish guy down the road from me uses his to make and repair harness. He has an American Straight needle for making the heavy stuff. Edited August 18, 2011 by busted Quote
Members niftytack Posted August 19, 2011 Author Members Report Posted August 19, 2011 Wow, I thought its has to be worth something it's near perfect shape for its age, its always been indoors in ac for as long as I have known it. If I recall its been the the family for over 20 years now. I got a quoit form a sewing machine repair man and he said it was only worth $100.00 funny thing is when he worked on it he said the opposite! I guess he forgot that he put that new servo motor on it that was $200 at the time. I could get more than that at a scrap yard for the metal. I hate to sell it but I need to make room for my new machine I have sold my other machine and looking to house only one machine due to the lack of room in my shop and its only me working. Any one interested please contact me, I don't know where else to advertise it. LNLeather Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 Hi I don't know if you are still trying to sell your sewing machine but there is a place here to advertise things for sale. Go back to the main forum page and scroll down to the Marketplace and in a sub-heading is a choice for "Machinery -- Sewing and Stitching" and there you will find a choice for New or Used sewing machines for sale. That's the place to post a picture and your add for selling your old Singer... It works, because I sold a machine there a few months back. Good luck to ya Quote
