THein Report post Posted September 15, 2011 I realize this might not be the place to bring this up but being how I'm in the market for a new sewing machine, I'm posting it here. After five years of putting up with a lousy machine, I'm ready to upgrade. Yesterday I tried to call a dealer in the U.S. to inquire about their machines and freight rates to Canada. Picked up my Leathercrafter/ Saddler's Journal and found their ad and toll free phone number. The toll free number won't work from Canada! I went back to the ad in the journal thinking, Ok, I'll pay for the call, now where's their regular number? nothing in the ad This happened a couple weeks ago with another leathercraft supply store in the U.S. when I tried to order supplies. It's not that I can't afford to, or won't pay for the call, it's the principle. The easier I make myself available to customers, the more sales I can make. I realize I'm having a rant, but if you don't let it out, you'll explode. Have a nice day! Terry

THein Report post Posted September 16, 2011 Name the dealer and we will try to get you their local phone number. Thanks, Wiz, I dug back in old magazines and found a real phone number for them. I figure there's no need to name names and beat up somebody you might need help from in the future. Terry
Wizcrafts Report post Posted September 16, 2011 Sometimes, dealers list their toll free number in publications, but may also list a local number on their website. For instance, the Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines website has the toll free number in their banners and on-page, but lists a local phone number in the footer of every page. The footer is the bottom section of a web page, where copyright, important links and contact info is typically presented.
KAYAK45 Report post Posted September 16, 2011 HEYHEY! Anybody that can put up with those nasty ankle biter dogs can take some grief on phone numbers! Use the toledo web site, order a new complete COWBOY 4500 and get back to leather work. Don't even ask for the price, just do it. You'll never regret it. Good luck, Kevin
