Hello..... this is my first post in this forum... I was following this forum for while, but I was hesitat to post any carving after I see creative people in sheridan style... any way these two are my second try at sheridan carving, C&C are welcomes to correct my mistakes in next project... by the way the design is not mine... I only do the carving.. I hope you like them

You are doing a relatively good job. The beveling is much better in second photo than first so we can assume you are getting better :)

Cut your finger nails very short. Use a modeling tool to rub out the scratches while the leather is still pliable.

Practice, practice, practice. Words we bandy about constantly.

Looks really good for starting out. Looking at the second piece, like was stated above, play with your lifters, they are meant to add depth but try not to push down the stems or background behind where you are lifting. Also, don't be afraid to run the mulesfoot down more than just one hit in some places. Keep at it, they're looking good. RW
