That looks really great! Well done!

I have a few questions, I'd love to ask:

Is that hand or machine stitched?

What tools did you use a press to mold the holster (a press? by hand?)

What finish did you use? The holster looks slightly darker and glossier than the belt (looks great...not a critique!). Was it a different leather or finish, or was it a result of the molding process?

Your work looks terrific, and I'd love to learn how you do it.:spoton:

thanx!!!

it is all the same leather but the shaping of a holster (hand pressing and lining with a peice of wood) is done while the holster is wet (warm water) and that results slite discoloration.... after some time on the sun exposure the colour difference will become less noticable... I don't think much about it, that is just the way it is... :)

the same thing is this gloss... the pressing and lining makes the leather slicker... water based polish used for finish...

stitching is by old adler 205... waxed thread 0,8 mm

next time I'll make a video ;)

cheers,

Silvio

That's what i figured. I was just curious if maybe the holster was horsehide, or you used a press. I like your holster molding... it looks like the tool you use has a larger radius than what i"m using, and results in some nice soft contours.

thanx Rohn!

@woodandsteel

this peice of wood that you see beneeth the revolver is what I use for shaping...

After years of practise I found ways how to loose that tipical line and shape holsters in this plastic like way...

The leather I use is very very hard to shape but once its shaped and dryed it lasts decades...

thanx for the interest, don't hesetate asking anything, glad to share...

cheers,

Beautiful work!!

Are you using veg tan and what weight (oz) is the thickness. outside leather? liner?

I am assuming this makes a difference in how much detail you get?

Great looking stuff, love that revolver and you did a great job of complimenting it.
