I thought I had posted on here but guess I didn't. I am not new to leather been doing it since 8 years old. I am always something new or a new way to do it.

Right now I am waiting with bated breath for my very first leather sewing machine. I am tired of the blood, sweat and tears way, mainly the blood and tears.

I have practically blown up my home sewing machines trying to sew suede on them.

I like to specialize in unusual items: fetish wear, medieval wear for horses and people. I want to try making medieval style boots and shoes but finding the soles, uppers etc. is a real chore here. I also want to make some fetish boots with a lower heel because many folks myself included have large calves and the boots they make are for 5 year olds in the calf.

So I am here and happy to say hi to all of you from the great white North.

Try Calgary Shoe Hospital downtown or Fantasy Leather & Calgary Shoe Hospital in Bedington. For the occasional sole leathers and such, I'm sure they would help you. The owner is often in the Beddington store during the afternoon. A very interesting older fellow - he may have some tips for you and might sew the soles on for you.

Thanks Northmount, I am a little late to the party but I will certainly check those out.

Did you get your new machine yet? I got one mid December. Sure makes a lot of projects easier and opens up new projects I might not do otherwise.

Hope to hear from you more often and to see some of your work.

I got mine three days before New Years, I just love it! This is way easier than sewing by hand.
