Members Eaglestroker Posted October 30, 2011 Members Report Posted October 30, 2011 Pay attention, and don't let your stuff get too hot. I had a perfect storm hit this poor thing yesterday and it's hard to quit kicking myself! Hope everyone enjoys a laugh at my expense today Quote
LNLeather Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Bummer........ how did it get too hot? We all make mistakes & live / learn Top photo - Really Nice! Quote
Members Wishful Posted October 30, 2011 Members Report Posted October 30, 2011 OK, so what exactly happened? Quote

It was my favorite yet, oh well. OK, so what exactly happened? I have a 'drying box' that consists of a shelf and a heat gun a good distance apart. I typically rotate them often and got sidetracked tooling another piece. I didn't think it was as bad until I felt the leather and it was brittle. Now I need to actually build a box! Quote
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted October 30, 2011 Contributing Member Report Posted October 30, 2011 I hate to see that you over cooked the holster, but really, that type of lesson is the type that sticks with you the best. Quote

wizard of tragacanth Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Oh gosh... I'm not laughing at all... that is just sad. That holster was looking good. It takes courage to share our failures. Thanks for that. Nick Quote
Ambassador Luke Hatley Posted October 30, 2011 Ambassador Report Posted October 30, 2011 ....it was a GREAT looking holster....mistakes are'nt given they are earned.. i did something simillar a long time ago. I put a Skunk Sporan in the Microwave.....for too long.. Quote
Members Eaglestroker Posted October 31, 2011 Author Members Report Posted October 31, 2011 We all have our moments, I'm just glad mine didn't cost anything more than time and a little bit in supplies, biggest waste was the time in tooling. Won't make that mistake twice and I got a little payback today. I made a pair mostly out of smite Quote
mlapaglia Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 really nice holsters, That had to have hurt. Is that an "N" Frame? Quote
Members Eaglestroker Posted November 1, 2011 Author Members Report Posted November 1, 2011 Maybe my feelings/pride a little bit. I'm going to give an antique finish a go on these as a first try so there is chance yet that I'll ruin them anyways. The pistol is a 6" K-frame. Quote
