ELeBlanc Report post Posted November 26, 2011 I'm wondering if the cast iron bases with treadle are interchangeable? Also have you head of a 29k172 with a clutch motor? This one was the handle wheel mounted on the front (in front of the model # tag) and the the pulleys mounted to the right of the machine going down in a what looks like the normal pattern. CowboyBob Report post Posted November 26, 2011 You have to find a couple of pieces of angle iron to put under the to support the left end of the machine when you mount a long arm on a shortarm stand. The legs will stick out approx 4" if I remember correctly. Yes,I seen clutchmotors on these machines.
ELeBlanc Report post Posted November 26, 2011 Bob, Thanks for the quick reply. Your recommendation of Joe Vais in NYC was very helpful. Been to him twice now. When I can afford your Servo Motor I'm going to buy it and replace the clutch motor on my LU 563. Did you do anything with the lot of 14 LU 563's in Dublin? I mentioned it to Joe. Here is the 29k172 sitting on the base with the motor inside. Ever seen this before? Any cautions? Price is $300. E
CowboyBob Report post Posted November 26, 2011 Yes, Joe is a very good person to deal with & he knows how to get a machine going. That type pf base usually works pretty good & for $300.00 I think it's a bargain. I tried bidding on the Juki's but they ended up going for way to much,it would of been nice to get them as they weren't too far away from me.
