buzzkiller Report post Posted December 7, 2011 If this is your first, I can't wait to see the next one. That is a really nice piece of work. I made my first sheath a few weeks ago and I understand what goes in to one like that. I am really impressed with your work.
McJeep Report post Posted December 7, 2011 Nice! I take it you needed to use a drill press or something to put the holes in that much material? I know there is no way I could hope to keep em straight on both sides using just a hand awl
Tinneal Report post Posted December 7, 2011 Looks awesome! What did you do to achieve that dented, spotty look?
dfivdayz Report post Posted December 7, 2011 thanks for the compliments...i have done other molded type sheaths but just not this kind...i did use a little dremel drill press and it works great for me...and the weird texture is a big 12" x 12" stamp that cost $1,000,000.00 dollars.. in my austin power dr. evil voice...hahaha......all i did was wet it and went out into the street, threw it on the ground and stomped on it...i've got asphalt where i live but use your imagination....then i antiqued it and gave it some stain....if you lay branches in a row of all different sizes you can do the same thing.... Ha! That made me laugh! I'm excited to try that trick, now, although since I live in Manitoba, I won't be seeing much asphalt until May. But I may try getting creative with what I have around my apartment!
