Woolenwears Report post Posted December 19, 2011 Hi, I'm new here, and find this all fascinating! I am an experienced seamstress, and recently jumped into sewing leathers and industrial type fabrics for bags and accessories. My question is this. I am considering investing in a Juki 1541 to handle the heavier leathers etc. My home machine with a leather needle etc. really can't handle what I want to do, especially when I get into double layers etc. Do any of you have this machine? And would I have any issues with it using 6-8 oz leather on tight corners etc. Someone suggested a boss stitcher but from what I can tell that is like a manual type machine.
