karl Report post Posted June 23, 2008 wow, i thought that was a real feather!!!! Thanks for the compliment but it needs a little more work to be the way I want it. I really didn't have the right knives to do the detail work, but the blades are on order, and then practice, practice, practice. Karl
TomSwede Report post Posted June 24, 2008 WOW, wonder how it will come out after all that practice when it looks this good now! Tom
karl Report post Posted June 24, 2008 Tom, I bought the "How to carve feathers" by Rob Barr from Hide Crafters and a couple of others also. I hope I can make them look a lot more realistic than that one, so lilke I said, Practice, Practice, Practice, and like "Larry tje Cable Guy" and "Git-R-Done," LOL. ClayB Report post Posted June 24, 2008 Hey Karl, You're doing great with the feathers. Each one will get better. I like the feathers to look ragged and rough like some of the ones you posted. Painting gets better with practice, so keep at it. I need to make some more, seems like every time I have a few, someone wants one. I really like Robb's videos. He makes his projects look so easy. Cant wait to see how they turn out for you.
