Mold Or Mildew Smell

A customer just picked up an old pair of lined chaps and a jacket with a removable liner. Problem is he can't get the stench out. He has washed 'em with saddle soap and although he said they look better, they still reek. He is getting his gear together for Daytona, next month, and wants to wear this skin. If there is any place I know of to find the answer to a leather question, it's here. Thankful for any & all replies. (Love this site) I think the funk is more in the skin than in the liner.heellllllp

A purse that was over grown with mold was brought to me.

They wanted it cleaned up.

Kept it out on porch and sprayed white vinegar 3-4 times till damp.

2-3 weeks mold and smell gone.

Will it work for you, don't know!!!!!!!

Try this put items in a large bag with some charcoal briquets like you would use to barbique. We had a musky smell in our basement after flooding and putting a open bag ( small bag ) down there in about 2 days NO smell. After all they use activated charcoal to get rid of oders even in drinking water at water treatment plants.
