Tinneal Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 Oh wow! I don't even know where to begin! It's beautiful! How did you finish/dye it Did you make the cover from scratch, or recover an existing one? Where did you even learn such a skill?? Quote Leatherwork Portfolio | Etsy Shop
Members OldManDan Posted May 29, 2012 Members Report Posted May 29, 2012 (edited) Outstanding art work, very fine detail and a noble quest to safe an ancient book! Love the deep carving, the book back is wonderful....I pull my hat....great craftsman ship!! Jimbob Actually, Jimbob, that's the front of the book. Arabic is read from right to left and what we would call back to front. But I agree, it is wonderful carving. Nice job! Edited to ask: Where did you get the beautiful filigree stamps? Or were they custom made for you? Edited May 29, 2012 by Rodw Quote ~Thanks in advance, Old Man Dan Oklahoma

Well aware of this fact, Rod....I am born in Europe,,,,,I have seen my share of arabic writings....I was actually refering to the actuall backbone of the book...not sure what you call that....when you close the book and have it in a shelf...this part you see then ....it just amazed me how deep and three dimensional it is!! Great work, great craftmanship and I absolutly agree with you on the quality of the work!! Thanks for your edit..
