frinjski Report post Posted May 6, 2012 O k here goes. I am trying to research on a leather sewing machine that would be ideal for working with deer tanned cowhides ( slightly thicker than deer but just about as soft and supple ). It needs to go through at a minimum of 4 layers of leather. I have been looking at Tacsew and Techsew and Artisan. I want to keep my financial range between 1000 to 1500. I have come to the conclusion I want it with a servo motor. Any guidance, insight, personal experience would be greatly appreciated. I live in the Oklahoma area. Does anyone have any experience with any of the companys I mentioned. Does anyone have any other suggestions. I look forward to hearing from anyone willing to put in their 2 cents worth or more would be greatly received. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend
KAYAK45 Report post Posted May 7, 2012 OOOKLAAHAAMMMAA. Where the wind. OK enough show toons. Call any of the featured sewing machine guys/gals on the site and get great advice. They do not shove a machine, they advise. I call Bob at Toledo Industrial for my answers, others call Steve and he gets good reviews These people really do want to help solve your problems. There are other dealers that will help you find the IDEAL MACHINE for your needs. $1,000 to $1500 is in the right range +- a little.
GrampaJoel Report post Posted May 9, 2012 (edited) Go here---> leather sewing machines See the man in the picture. That's Cobra Steve. He is a great guy. Sort of a rock star in the leather sewing world. Give him a call and see what he can do for you. I have three of his machines and am glad I do. A class 4, Class 17, and a NP-4 skiving machine. Just say Joel Edwards sent me. Edited May 9, 2012 by GrampaJoel
