Randle P McMurphy Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Well I thought this is the best place to ask Looking for the combination of colors to get a Black Cherry Color on leather, I dont know what else call the color Using Eco Flo at the moment Its working so so mostly shades of browns, other stuff make me a little dizzy Has anybody had success with this color how does it work with tooling? Thanks Quote
Members markush Posted May 10, 2012 Members Report Posted May 10, 2012 I've only ever seen mention of the "secret formula" for black cherry once...and I saved the link I haven't made it yet so if you get to it before me let me know how it works out. This is an exact quote from another forum "1/3 Burgandy and 2/3's Black....Angelus or Pro Oil dye works just as well" But you didn't hear that from me! Quote
electrathon Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 (edited) Fiebings ox blood and Fiebings black. About 3/4 ox blood, maybe more. do test samples, let them dry before you decife if the mix is correct. Differant leathers will be differant shades, so test on the same leather as you are using. Members Shooter McGavin Posted May 16, 2012 Members Report Posted May 16, 2012 I've taken to using the oxblood and black in almost the same ratio as stated above, then finalizing with a coat or two of the eco-flo professional waterstain in bordeaux. I like the results. Quote
Members Leatherimages Posted May 17, 2012 Members Report Posted May 17, 2012 My own choice is to use Fiebings Cherry Stain, followed by Black Antique Stain. Quote
