Bobby hdflame Report post Posted June 21, 2012 The seat looks great. What's the significance of the artwork?
AMMO Report post Posted June 22, 2012 The seat looks great. What's the significance of the artwork? My brother-in-law's last name is Sword, thus the sword. He's a plumber by profession and an avid hunter. The rest of the design is just me filling the negative space the same way I used to on my paper bag book covers in high school, except I don't have any dirty words hidden anywhere on there. OK, got it. I thought maybe there was some hidden meaning that I was missing!

ironhead13 Report post Posted July 3, 2012 Cool! Only draw back, is the scissor springs. BUT, that is a personal preference as I don't understand using springs on a seat for a bike that has a functioning swingarm.

BUT, that is a personal preference as I don't understand using springs on a seat for a bike that has a functioning swingarm. Thanks guys, and yeah, I tend to agree about the springs when you've already got suspension, but that's what he wanted. He said it rode smoother afterwards though, so maybe there is something to it. I mean, it's not a rubber mount, so maybe it deadened a little vibration from the motor.

Nice work AMMO, the aged, mottled look came through nicely. Chris

Im sure it will add to the suspension especially if you are running short shocks... like me... which you might as well be riding a hard tail cause you ain't far from it. Yeah, I run rigid struts on my FXR with a sprung solo, so I know what you're talking about.
Cyberthrasher Report post Posted July 12, 2012 Paughco rigid frame!! I'm surprised I have teeth after some of the bumps I hit this weekend.
Shooter McGavin Report post Posted July 13, 2012 I like springs on my hardtail seat. Tried it once without, no thanks, not around Cleveland
ironhead13 Report post Posted July 13, 2012 I had a chance to buy an 85 or 86 fxr which ever was the first year of the evo. Could have had it at a fairly decent price and I didn't jump on it. I still kick myself sometimes for not doing it. Cyberthrasher, nice to see a larger pic! I like that frame, what are the specs. It appears to be somewhere around 4 up 2 out maybe? Im looking at possibly picking up a basket case shovel.... don't know yet if Im gonna do it or not yet. Got to get a back up vehicle so i can have the downtime on the sportster to cut it. Cyberthrasher Report post Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) Cyberthrasher, nice to see a larger pic! I like that frame, what are the specs. It appears to be somewhere around 4 up 2 out maybe? You know, i hate to admit it, but I honestly can't remember exaclty. That does sound about right though. It was one of those "the frame is here, let's use it" kind of deals. I'll have to find my copy of the MSO and figure that out for sure. Edited July 16, 2012 by Cyberthrasher
