Members Shooter McGavin Posted July 10, 2012 Members Report Posted July 10, 2012 I have a piece of elephant hide up for sale. This is from Roje leather and came off of a large piece I used for belts. To be perfectly honest, it doesnt burnish very well, it might be partially chrome tanned. Would still work nice for inlays or money clips, small stuff, I dunno. Asking 15 dollars shipped. The "far" picture is, at least on my computer, a more accurate representation of the actual color. Thanks!
Moderator bruce johnson Posted July 10, 2012 Moderator Report Posted July 10, 2012 I'll take it for that. How do you want to be paid?
Members Shooter McGavin Posted July 11, 2012 Author Members Report Posted July 11, 2012 Sold. Thanks Bruce! I have more available everyone. Let me know what size you're after and I'll shoot you a price. Thanks
Members PaxAddict Posted October 2, 2012 Members Report Posted October 2, 2012 What's the thickness? How do you think it would fare as shoe insole? Is it thick enough to carve a holdfast? Thanks!

Members H factor Posted June 24, 2013 Members Report Posted June 24, 2013 Do yo have anymore of the honey elephant? Do yo have anymore of the honey elephant?
Moderator Art Posted June 24, 2013 Moderator Report Posted June 24, 2013 An insole is going to be 10-12 irons, around 1/4 inch or a little less. The elephant I have is not even 1/2 that and chrome tanned. It would however make nice uppers, but you would need bigger pieces. It is tough as hell, you can't even scratch it with a fingernail.
