Froghunter Report post Posted January 18, 2008 ok...I am getting the hang of the site and am ready to share... My style is a little bit different. Here are a couple of samples. A dragon done a some scrap (Now adorning a book cover). It was my first stab at celtic and I am really happy with the way it turned out. The second is a carry bag I did for my sister who is a professional art instructor. The first stab at mexican basket weave and I only messed up a couple of times, but all in all it came out great! She loved it... What do ya think?

Maeshin Report post Posted January 18, 2008 That bag is adorable ^_^ and I really like your tooling on the dragon (for both, but particularly the one with the celtic knotwork). Good job!

Froghunter Report post Posted January 18, 2008 I can see you and I have the same book with the dragon in it...the one on the left that is...You did a great job with it! Thanks! Yea, I cheated and used a book pattern for that one, Someday I'll actually do my own celtic, but I am not any good at it yet!
wildrose Report post Posted January 18, 2008 For creating your own designs, I highly recommend going to clanbadge.com and ordering the Celtic Knot Font...it's easy and awesome.
howardb Report post Posted January 18, 2008 Thanks! Yea, I cheated and used a book pattern for that one, Someday I'll actually do my own celtic, but I am not any good at it yet! Cheat?? Leathercraft has been built on using someone elses pattern. Cheating would be doing so and saying it's yours. So in that light, where can I get the pattern? I love the dragon and would like to put it on something, though I have NO idea what yet. Both pieces are very nice by the way! Brent

Froghunter Report post Posted January 20, 2008 So in that light, where can I get the pattern? Brent This pattern is from one of the books the we sell at Tandy, Appropriately named the "Dragon" book. A smaller version is also in the "Tattoo" book we sell. However, please feel free to copy the picture above and make your own pattern from it if you like! Thanks for all the kind words all! It's means something when just anyone says they like your work, it means even more when craftsmen say it!!!
