Bigfoot Report post Posted September 6, 2012 I don't do many sheaths so thought I'd have a go at one for my machete, pretty happy with it finished and I even got my Junker sewing machine to (nearly) do a consistent stitch!

Bigfoot Report post Posted September 6, 2012 Now that's some good shots...what dye color did you use? I used two coats of eco flow block on the carving and smoke black Hi lite over the top, finished with satin sheen. I need to check out the oil/spirit dyes as I have never used them but now want to do more stitching on pouches and sheaths etc. Everyone seems to recommend wetting the leather before sewing for a better result but that would mess up a water based dye so I guess the learning curve continues......any advice would be great!
