Replica Armour Set From Conan The Barbarian

That looks awesome. I especially like the rope edging and the rustic look.

Thanks :) The fictional setting of the Conan books & movies is a lost era of humanity, the Hyborian Age, around 40,000 to 10,000 years BC. The costume & set design of the 1982 movie captures this idea exceptionally, so I tried to follow the primitive feel as much as I could.

I love the look! It's very bold, in not hiding how it's constructed. It's staying true to the materials, and not trying to hide the fastenings. The art is in showing a little bit of clunkiness with finesse. Excellent balance of both!

That's all down to the designer of the original piece. I only had to improvise here & there to make it safer for combat with LARP weapons, so I can't take much credit for it.

What did you use to get the dimpled look on the leather? Ballpeen hammer?

Oh I figured you used one of the stamps to get that look. Cool idea.

That armor is amazing.
