No less "real leatherwork" than a "real photographer" using a digital camera! Looks nice - good work! Do you own your own laser? I've been eyeing them a bit lately, but dang - they're expensive!! A few people here have posted some awesome stuff they've lasered - wallets, bags, etc. Heck, I did a journal cover a couple/few months back that I drew on with a permanent marker, and colored with artists markers. Sold it on Etsy for $70 with a $4.95 B&N journal inside! :)

Hello. I've had mine for 11 years. Had a lot of fun with it. Etsy is one of my favorite places. I've sold a few things on there. Might give these a try.

Thanks again for the kind words.

I like the laser work and have considered exploring that path myself . I am stuck on the thread I use Bz-415 Nylon White Bonded TR-350 from Texas threads . For me there is just no other for hand sewing . Hand sewing is fun I enjoy it ,takes a bunch of time so I am not willing to use any thread that dont come out the way I expect it to . I am not going to voice a opinion on your thread ,thats not my place . In the end beauty is in the eye of the beholder . Its well done cleanly excuted and will give years of good service . I expect it will age well and after some time in and out of the pocket it will acquire a nice patina . Well done . Bill

Not my sewing on this one. This is a commercialy made wallet. I am just using it to engrave on. That's why I didn't call it real leatherwork, just an engraving example.

Thanks for looking.

OK, so what did you use to do the engraving?

I have a 45 watt Co2 laser from Universal Laser systems (ULS). First a finish is applied to protect it from smoke damage, lasered and then hilighter is applied.
