Members Averya Posted October 14, 2012 Members Report Posted October 14, 2012 Even though I tested a scrap piece of leather, the dye on my project is way darker than I wanted. I'm using Fiebings Med Brown mixed with a bit of diluter. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you Quote
electrathon Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 Do you mean remove the dye so it is mostly not there? Unfortionatly about the onl.y way you are going to do that is to get new leather. Think of it like clothing and dye. If you had a white cottom shirt and you dyed it red and then wanted to change the color there would not be much of a way to get to white again. Quote
Members St8LineGunsmith Posted October 14, 2012 Members Report Posted October 14, 2012 once you dye the leather it is pretty much there for ever. I have dyed leather and have it turn out darker than I wanted I just learned to live with the darker tint. Quote
Tree Reaper Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 You should be able to lighten it with water on a sponge or apply tan cote and wipe that off. Quote
