Hello everyone,

I would like to present a Moleskine Notebook/Journal Cover with custom laser engraving. I use 3-4Oz vegetable tanned leather for the cover which is laser cut (profile and holes), laser engraved with a word cloud, hand stained and hand stitched.

Its an effort to use technology and manual skill to produce a custom made product. We offer this on Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/...k-leather-cover)

Regards

Khalid

Looks quite nice. Combined new technology with some traditional leather work.

I think there are lots of opportunities to combine new tech and traditional. Some for mass production, and some for customized designs like your word cloud. Though I would tend towards what I think are more artistic designs. Each of us has a different opinion as to what we think of as being artistic.

Thanks Tom for your comments. I am in awe of people who do these incredible tooling work. I am newbie in leather working and just started a few months ago.

For the elastic on the moleskine cover, I have created a slot in the leather on the inside that allows the elastic to come out. Please check one of the pictures here (http://www.etsy.com/listing/98687678/moleskine-notebook-leather-cover) and you can see how I did it.
