"screw" Line 24 Type Snaps

Hi Everyone;

This Line 24 type snap with the screw in stud, where do I purchase these? It isn't just a screw that goes through the leather, right? I have a customer that wants inter-changeable belt loops for his surveying equipment belt pouch. I've seen these on some of your CCW holsters.

6/32 screw with matching T nut on the back. You can use nuts with or without the spikes depending on what you want. The 6/32 head will fit right in the snap. I buy the screws long, clip them off flush, grind the extra off, and use them. If you thread them into the t nut then cut it flush and grind it will recut the threads when you back them out. I hope that all makes sense.

Yes, that makes sense now. I see these are 8/32, I guess they won't fit? I see Home Depot has 6/32.

8/32 is a touch too big for snaps. It's what I use for non snap attachments like clips though. The snaps get 6/32 screws. I don't use many of them, but I've just gotten the silver ones. Easier to find than black. And they are pretty well hidden from sight anyway. You'll have to cut them down to the length you need if you get them at Home Depot. They are generally a bit too long, and it's harder to find short ones.

I've been using 8-32 machine screws for line 24 snaps for years. Easily found in black if you search actual fastener suppliers instead of building supply centers. The head design allows for the correct fit. search #8-32 x 1/2 Button Socket Head Hex Drive Cap Screw at Nutsandbolts.com for one example.

Grainger Industrial Supply offers them also. If you have a Grainger supply house in your area, you should be able to get them there and avoid the shipping fees.

Stainless steel t nuts from Steel marine fastener and undercut head stainless screws from McMaster-Carr. I make the hole in my loops big enough to go over the post of the T nut. I'll get some more pictures later today for you.

yeah, screw line 24 snaps...i dont like them either... sorry...i cant believe i was the first....

+1 on mcmaster carr...they have everything you could possible need..it may take a while to figure what you need is called, but they will have it...
