Members pault Posted January 4, 2013 Members Report Posted January 4, 2013 My first leather project is going to be making a guitar strap. I will be using 5-7 oz leather for the front and 3-4 oz. leather for the back. Both pieces are cow belly. I will be using either 138 or 207 thread. I watched a video on you tube and he shows pretty much everything I need to do. My question is before sewing the front and back together, should I case the leather? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Paul Quote
Members Sylvia Posted January 4, 2013 Members Report Posted January 4, 2013 I don't know what the others will say but in my opinion you case leather in preparation for tooling. Unless your glue is water activated like Gorilla glue which I would not recommend for this application, you would need dry leather. Quote
