Hi Steve, how are you.

Have you ever seen a genuine nine inch Juki 441 "S"? I guess that "S" suppose to stand for short, thats not Juki language.

No I believe the "S" is from the clone`s sign, as on the similar Econosew clone in Piddlers post #8.

Piddler,

you asked for help; now you have all the dealers present. Non of our other members (certainly not me, anyway) has something to gain from advising you to use this dealers.

We knows the importance of support on Chinese sewing machines. And the fact that what might look like the super deal on Internet, often turns out to be the most expensive one.

If you going to buy a Cobra, Cowboy or Techsew, buy it from their respective dealers. Not from somebody on EBay who sells machines that looks phony. You can call them on free phone lines, they might have something used too.

Good luck

Tor

I want to thank everyone for all the great advise. After a long weekend of uncertainty I "finally" ended upoing with a new Techsew 4100 with premium accs package. Ron worked with me for 2 days while my credit union couldnt seem to make my debit card work outside the country. I bet we spent a couple hours on the phone all together, if this is any indication to the kind of customer service I can expect in the future then you couldnt hope for better. Cant wait to get it.

Thanks Dave.

In response to that Juki 441 short arm machine on ebay...I've personally never seen this machine made by Juki before. If it isn't on the Juki website, it's probably not legit.

Yes, I was 99 % sure of that too. However, when you accusing someone of cheating you got to be 100 % certain.

I see that questionable Juki is still on ebay, anybody ever ask the seller about its authenticity?

Please read CowboyBob's replies numbers 17 and 29, in this topic, on page 2. He is a Juki dealer and called Juki to find out if they have produced a model 441s (short arm) for sale in the USA, or anywhere else. According to Bob, in reply 29, their response was "no" - meaning that the seller, or his intermediate supplier, has installed a decal with the word "Juki" on some other brand of 9 inch 441 clone.

I was trying to politely say has anybody told the seller its a fake and we know it, or contacted ebay about a counterfit. Juki may even be interested in seeing it as some companies defend their name viciously. It a good thing I work with my hands and not my words. I wasn't questioning our experts, and the thing looks fishy to my novice eye as well, I think somebody pointed out the "sticker" model plate and that the real ones are rivited.

Sorry for my confusion

The last picture on the ebay ad pretty much proves it is not a Juki. The finish on the parts is rough as guts and Juki would not let it out of the factory looking like that!

Like quite a few already posted, the 1st thing I thought after viewing images of the machine was that I've never seen a Juki like that.

The dealers and experts here are all trying to say the same thing: If in doubt - beware!

If you know your way around a machine and are only looking at light usage then a dodgy machine might be ok. There are times I have paid $20 for a Chinese machine head hoping to use it for parts and found that I have paid $30 too much.

The EBay seller (robert97....) has changed the name of the fake Juki nine inch machine to Econosew 441S, I guess he saw the lawsuits closing in.

The seller informed me today; it is a consignment machine his customer received with the Juki name on. After bringing it to their attention they have done some research and found it to be a Econosew 441S. I am afraid he lost a customer or two in this proses.

I really do love the way this new Techsew 4100 sews. I wasn't real comfortable with standing to sew on it so yesterday I lowered it to a proper height for sewing while seated, took one of my stools and cut the legs down to the same height as a kitchen chair, and let me tell you, this is the way to sew for me. I can rest my right foot on the lift pedal, and my left on the "go" pedal. As I have the speed turned down for accurate stitching I am comfortable using my left for the speed. If you haven't tried this on your big machines I highly recommend it.
