Members blaw Posted January 7, 2013 Members Report Posted January 7, 2013 Anyone have anything good or bad to say about the consew 225 for making chaps, breast collars or similar items. I can also pick up a 255 for about the same money. 600 ish Thanks blaw Quote
CowboyBob Posted January 7, 2013 Report Posted January 7, 2013 Great machine for chaps or up to 20 oz. of leather, uses up to #138 thread easily,207 if you work w/it. Forget breast collars on these machines, you need something heavier. The 225 is a small bobbin w/o reverse, the 255 is a large bobbin w/reverse Quote
Cobra Steve Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 If they are the same price, go for the 255. It is a better machine because it is newer, it has a large bobbin, and it has reverse. You can use most 111W parts on it as well. Steve Quote
