prc77ro Report post Posted April 26, 2013 I made this for a friend that has 2 Uberti Scholfields, one with a 7in barrel and one with a 5. He wanted both holsters to fit a 7in. This is the first belt and the largest project I have done to date. The Belt is fully lined, made from two cuts of 9-10oz veg-tan, and both holsters and the billet end are lined in 2-3oz calf. I dont own a machine so everything is hand stitched in my horse with awl and harness needles. Please any criticism is welcome, let me know what you think or what i could have done better. prc77ro Report post Posted April 26, 2013 I think 6 hours total between the belt, buckle end, billet, and both holsters, I think im at a foot an hour. Plus, and I'm still new to this, I don't think a machine will do a saddle stitch?

Brazos Jack Report post Posted April 28, 2013 (edited) Nice, nice job! Neat, even stitching. Of course I'm partial to hand stitching being as I've never used a machine. The advantage when making the holster is that you can roll the leather over to sew the seam without having to fold it and flaten out the holster pouch, especially when the holster is lined. This keeps the leather in a "natural state" and makes a better holster. It is in my humble but hard earned opinion, that you will keep 'em coming back when you deliver a quality product. So, sew them holsters by hand! Great job, I made a Buscadero style once, they ain't easy. Jim Edited April 28, 2013 by Brazos Jack
