IngleGunLeather Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 My first sheath. I'm somewhat happy with the way this turned out. This being my first, I learned a lot and realized I already knew a little already. What I came to realize is basic leather working still applies, cutting, edging, dyeing, burnishing, etc. What I learned was my basket stamping needs some work (been about 6 months) and stitching these things up with a machine is just like a belt, leave a little over hang on the bottom and then trim the excess. In addition to that, I'll cut my next welt out as a single piece, vise two like Ka-Bar does. Oh, and of course I learned a little more about setting up the machine to sew this thickness. IngleGunLeather Posted May 23, 2013 Author Report Posted May 23, 2013 Thank guys! I'm ready to start on the next one. Think I'm gonna make up a few for the standard Ka-Bar and see if they'll sell. If not at least I can work on my technique. Quote Ingle Gun leather
