Jaymack Report post Posted May 27, 2013 I don't know much about this sport, but my father is an avid golfer. Does anyone have an idea/pattern for a father's day golf related gift that I can make with leather?
KatRides Report post Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) I live with an avid golfer, he's often bugging me about a leather putter head cover. The style would depend on your father's putter style. I'll see if I can find a few pics to give you an idea. Dont know how your pattern making skills are. Edited May 27, 2013 by KatRides
KatRides Report post Posted May 27, 2013 A google search here shows several styles, you'll need to know where the "handle" attaches to the putter head http://www.google.com/search?q=leather+putter+cover&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=Jc6iUbPCEuWjiAKr8IDADA&ved=0CDIQsAQ&biw=400&bih=
pete Report post Posted May 27, 2013 you can't go wrong with head covers for his woods. Nothing fancy, but just a tube shape will be the best. Fitted are a pain and unnecessary. They are considered "old fashioned" but if you try to get them now they are VERY costly as only a few companies still make them and they charge an arm and a leg for them. Herrington, Orvis, etc have them sometimes but they can run $200-$400 for a set of 4! Use chap or garment leather and I think that you will be all in for around $50.00 and your time. pete
jessebeckham Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Yesterday I saw on a Coach sale a small leather case/pouch for golf balls.. I think they held 3-4 balls. Cylinder shape with small zipper on one end. Could easily be done with a flap/slip closure.
