Steve75 Report post Posted May 27, 2013 I recently began making the shoulder holster in Stohlman's How To Make Holsters Book. I have the holster support all cut out, however it is to small. So two questions have popped up. What is the proper way to measure for proper fit? Is it possible to merely lengthen the strap that goes over the shoulder to solve the problem? This is my first attempt at making a shoulder holster, so any advice I can get is appreciated. Thanks, Steve.
Dwight Report post Posted May 27, 2013 Steve, . . . being this is the first one, . . . consider it a training exercise: instead of cutting a whole new piece, . . . simply lengthen it. If I lengthen a strap for some reason, . . . this is the usual method I use, . . . lacing it together. You can also later adjust the length if necessary. May God bless, Dwight

workingmanleather Report post Posted June 2, 2013 I've only made a few shoulder rigs but the way I measure them is by the person my goal with a shoulder rig is I want it to wear like a good fitting suit jacket. I want it to be comfortable yet snug so it doesn't move around a lot with brisk walking or even if you have to run. I'm not a big fan of the adjustable rigs myself I'm a bigger guy and can never get the adjustment to be fit to me, or my customers. :-)
