Members Leatherstrap1 Posted May 31, 2013 Members Report Posted May 31, 2013 Here is a pic of my new pilot that I recently purchased from a guy who's family was 3 generation saddlers. Sadly he has give it up but when I done the three hour journey to Walsall I was overwhelmed with what I saw and what I heard him say and to my amazement he had 2x 40 ft shipping containers full up with saddlery machinery and hardware. What I was about to hear from him made me feel sick. He had scrapped some pearson #6 bobbin winders and other stuff. It got me thinking how many other people in this world don't realise how lucky they are and don't realise what they got. I gave him a few contact numbers of possible buyers and helped him out Do you realise how lucky you really are Here is a picture of the busm pilot I purchased from him Quote
Members Leatherstrap1 Posted May 31, 2013 Author Members Report Posted May 31, 2013 Also. Do anyone know where I could possibly get another foot for it as the one I've got is a bit too well worn. It comes around the side of the needle bit I'm wanting one that comes from the rear of the needle as like conventional machines Thanks Ls <img src="http://i.imgur.com/PsUiGf6.jpg" alt="" title="Hosted by imgur.com" /> Quote

Members Jax Posted September 20, 2013 Members Report Posted September 20, 2013 I used 1 of those at a saddlers in Walsall & loved it, I wish you all the best with it. Quote
Members Leatherstrap1 Posted September 20, 2013 Author Members Report Posted September 20, 2013 Was the saddlers name power by any chance I only got this a few months ago from a saddler in Walsall. The firm was an old company and employed a lot of people. Hmmm I wonder if this was one you used Quote
Members Jax Posted September 20, 2013 Members Report Posted September 20, 2013 Hi Leatherstrap1, no the machine I used wasn't in such nice condition as yours it belonged to Colt Saddlery, I used to go in there from time to time when I was at college in Walsall & sometimes machined rubber rein grips on with the Pilot, as I remember it was a lovely machine to use but a pig to thread up, we used to leave an end from the thread being used & tie the new thread to that & pull it through to the needle. I am sure you will love yours & I am glad its found a good home. Quote
Members mikeloughlin Posted August 7, 2019 Members Report Posted August 7, 2019 Does anyone have a diagram on how to thread the machine? Quote
