Members registrar Posted June 3, 2013 Members Report Posted June 3, 2013 I'm upholstering an ottoman of an arne jacobsen egg chair. I need to handsew the top piece to the bottom piece of leather including the welting. My awls just don't have the correct curve to go through all the leather pieces. Wanted to know if anyone has a source for an awl with almost an L-shape design. Thanks for some help. Quote
Tree Reaper Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 You might have to heat one up and bend it. Quote
Members Matt S Posted June 3, 2013 Members Report Posted June 3, 2013 Stohlman talks about how to bend awls and needles to whatever curve you wish in his book on Hand Sewing. Quote
