Luckily just a simple bookmark was harmed in this crime It could have been worse; considering making her into a rug or vest now that she has the taste for leather Darn dog Quote

Members RiverCity Posted July 4, 2013 Members Report Posted July 4, 2013 Now see, my dog is helpful. She finds any rivets that I drop, and leaves them all over the living room carpet to step on barefoot. Chuck Quote
Members benlilly1 Posted July 5, 2013 Members Report Posted July 5, 2013 Awe, she looks sweet...she just loves your leatherwork! Give her some of her own scraps of leather. I do that for my dog Ernie. Quote
Members WScott Posted July 5, 2013 Author Members Report Posted July 5, 2013 But Dad.. She's an Aussie.... It's her job!!! Actually Swiss...she is a Bernese Mountain Dog not an Aussie Shepard. They do look alike Fortunately she is scared of the deep dark scary workshop as is only 7 months old... so lots of time to learn rivet distribution and tool stealing. Quote
Members TomG Posted July 5, 2013 Members Report Posted July 5, 2013 Yeah.. After I posted, I wondered if she had a tail. Berners and Aussies do look alike.. Especially when the Berner is a puppy. These guys were my inspiration for doing dog collars <g>..... Quote Tom Gregory Legacy Leathercraft www.legacyleathercraft.com www.etsy.com/shop/legacyleathercraft
Members benlilly1 Posted July 5, 2013 Members Report Posted July 5, 2013 TomG, They are beautiful! Quote
Members TomG Posted July 5, 2013 Members Report Posted July 5, 2013 Thanks... We have owned a total of 6 Aussies over the past 13 years. Lost a couple early. These guys range from 4 to 13. My wife does agility with them.. well, only the youngest now. I like your Corgi... I assume you make your own collars? Also, I thought veg tan was bad for dogs... I know they love rawhide... A could be wrong about the VT though.. wouldn't be the first time <g> Quote Tom Gregory Legacy Leathercraft www.legacyleathercraft.com www.etsy.com/shop/legacyleathercraft
Members benlilly1 Posted July 5, 2013 Members Report Posted July 5, 2013 Ernie is too strong for my collars to withstand. For a little guy you wouldn't believe his strength! Corgi's life span is around 14ish. He's a wild man! I didn't know veg tan was bad...he likes his rawhide the best anyway. Quote
Members TomG Posted July 5, 2013 Members Report Posted July 5, 2013 I'm not 100% sure it is bad for them.. Just recall hearing out digestion issue??? What are you making your collars out of that can't withstand him??? Quote Tom Gregory Legacy Leathercraft www.legacyleathercraft.com www.etsy.com/shop/legacyleathercraft
