ArtS Report post Posted September 10, 2008 My son saw a picture of a beer holster that I had saved off the net and asked if I'd make him one. Here is a quickie I made him this weekend. Instead of just the holster I also made the belt with inert bullets. The holster can also just be used with a regular belt. It snaps together to make the belt loop. Great idea Drac. Maybe a pivot and a weight on the bottom. Gotta keep it from spilling. I might have to make one for the CAN people. Hmm, damn now i'm thinking of making one. fishguy Report post Posted September 10, 2008 Maybe you should make loops to hold pretzels or slim jims instead of bullets.
ArtS Report post Posted September 10, 2008 If you figure out a way to swivel it let me know! Good idea. Someone else suggested a double rig. Maybe instead of bullets it should be shot glasses!Of course yours will have to be in black patten leather. ArtSOr a bandoleer with Slim Jims! Now this is a constructive discussion!ArtS
Jordan Report post Posted September 10, 2008 Look in some boating catalogs, I think they are called gimbaled cup holders, swivel in a bunch of direction like a boat is bound to do, or after a few at the local watering hole there is no telling which way people will sway. Windy Report post Posted September 12, 2008 (edited) I have been working on a few hammer holders for my employees. My brother said he needed his to swivel as his old one which keeps the hammer from popping out when it hits the scaffold. Anywho on the subject at hand. I had no luck finding a place to buy the hardware to make a swivel. I did however find a place that sold hammer holders that swivel for a buck fifty.I believe with a little thinking you could easily figure out how to flatten the metal holder then surround it with leather thus making a swivel beer holder. Albeit since I do not partake in the consumption of mind altering drugs of the solid or liquid varieties I would use mine for holding water. Here is the link to the inexpensive swivel hammer holders. http://www.shopoftools.com/store/CL-141.html Oh yea it would not take much to grind off the rivets then attach it to your work with new rivets. Big Papa Leather Report post Posted September 20, 2008 For the swivel you could use a radio type swivel used often in Law Enforcement Duty Rigs. The radio extends down and needs to swivel in order to sit. The slotted male portion has to be rotated around in order to be released from the female holder. It would be easy to incorporate into the holster and belt. The if needed the beer holster could be removed from the belt and other attachements could be made to replace it. Maybe a larger holster for a 5th of Whiskey. In the case of hammers, maybe you can swap it for other tool holders. At $3.50 or so they are pretty reasonable.
