I posted in new member forum, but since my interest is in braiding, I thought I'd introduce myself here. I've made & repaired most of my own equipment most of my life, but just in the last couple of years became interested in rawhide braiding. Mostly self taught from Grants book. Last winter I took a class from a great braider who lives near me named Ralph Dillon. Not sure what the destination is, but I'm enjoying the journey. The pics are my latest pieces. The reins are 8 strand square, romal 12 strand square. The quirt is a section of rein that was left over, all buttons on it except the ring knots are what Grant calls the Colima Lazy Man's button post-43386-0-48126000-1374814902_thumb.jpost-43386-0-48203500-1374815026_thumb.jwith three passes, the second one being the red strand.

I'd like to welcome you to a great site!!All though I don't get to braid as much as I would like or visit the this forum as much as I used to. If I can be of any service just holler.

Nice looking work and looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Mike

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for showing your work. It looks great. I have never used rawhide myself but I really like seeing what yourself and others can do with it.
