Where To Buy Sewing Machine In Calgary

Recommended Posts

I've been searching Kijiji for about a month on my limited budget and scared of getting one with timing issues so contemplating new. Anyone know where I could source a new machine up here?

You should look again at Kijiji. 2nd page of industrial sewing machine search leads to a Mason Highspeed Walking foot machine for 500. I believe this is what you are looking for. All you need to do is slow the speed of the machine down it runs around 2000 stitches per minute. You only need 6-8 hundred stitches per minute. Good luck.

You have a couple options, one is to purchase from one of the suppliers listed in the top of this page banners. I purchased from Ron at http://shop.raphaelsewing.com/ in Montreal and had it dropped at the curb in front of my house. If you locate the machine you want, the cart will estimate shipping for you. The machine will be set up for the type of sewing you want to do if you work with him.

Another is to check http://www.leightons.ca/catalog-general.html located east of Red Deer. John has new and used machines.

Also check out WIz's post to see a number of modifications that are made to machines to make them suitable for leather. This post http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=49955&hl=+leather%20+machine#entry317799 is specific to a 441, but gives you some idea of what needs to be done to a machine.

Thank you all for the responses. I have talked to John at Leighton's he seemed knowledgeable he is pushing a brand called Mach. Can you please send me the I'd number of this item on kijiji? I can't find the one you mentioned

Thanks again
