Members keableleather Posted October 26, 2013 Members Report Posted October 26, 2013 Welcome guys, I am Australian too "in QLD" and have been a leather worker for years following in the inspirational footsteps of my late fathers life time passion with the craft. You'll find this is the right place to gain knowledge from the very basics to the remarkable, take the time to explore the site and the people out there are always willing to help out! enjoy! greekgod....study all you can on the basics and see if you can find a starting point, like stitching, or stamping or lacing etc, but learning about leather is a good idea first, what is it, what is the difference between leather types, and what is it's uses from a veg tanned hide to a harness leather and then how to cut it. enjoy! Members greekgod Posted October 26, 2013 Members Report Posted October 26, 2013 G'day keableleather thanks very much for your reply. Great to see Australians actively involved in this craft. I have started reading and checking out some Youtube vids. In fact I have started personal lessons with a person here in Perth and bought some tools today which he had recommended. Hello Caroline.. have you been on the forum for long? Quote
Ambassador leatheroo Posted October 26, 2013 Ambassador Report Posted October 26, 2013 Been around for a long time...just not as active as in the beginning. I read the posts every day...great to see more aussies pounding the leather! Quote
