Pounder Report post Posted October 12, 2013 Good Morning All: I have a Singer 45K50 that I want to restore. I have been seeking a repair manual but cannot locate one, if in fact it does exist. I have searched the Singer sites and have found operating and parts manuals but no repair manuals. Is there a specific manual or one that covers several classes of this Singer model? Is this Singer model comparable to another brand model that I could obtain that manual? I appreciate any help that can be provided. Pounder
CowboyBob Report post Posted October 12, 2013 There has never been many repair manuals around for many sewing machines,Singer always had operator manuals BUT they wanted you to call their repairman out & make some $$ to fix it so they never printed service manuals. RoyalLeatherDesigns Report post Posted October 12, 2013 Pounder, If there's a repair manual for this machine the only person that will have it is Singermania so give him a try. He's a really nice guy and collects these machines I am sure if he has it he's willing to share a copy with you, by the way his name is Steve. Good Luck! Pounder Report post Posted October 13, 2013 Cowboy Bob and Royal Design Leather Thanks for the advice. sounds like Singer had the right idea but a poor attitude. Singermania Report post Posted October 13, 2013 HI, I think Cowboy Bob is right, Singer made available operators and parts manuals, I have a general 45K operator manual if you want one, but don't recall seeing the engineers' version, though I do have one for the 132K6. The machine is not super complex, I'd just take a good look at how it works and go from there. As for similar machines the 45K also came out as an Adler, Claes, Wertheim, Atlas, Phoenix, Titan, Pfaff and so on. And in more recent times as the GA5 etc etc. The machine is easy to operate, easy to time and will last forever. Regards Steve

Singermania Report post Posted October 14, 2013 Let us know how you got on. I now have the Adler 4&5 class operators' manual thanks to Dr Stark if anybody needs it, its in German but still has good photos and you can translate with Google if need be. The 4 class is the flat bed 45K and the 5 is the cylinder arm. Best Regards Steve
