CowboyBob Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 The picture is alittle fuzzy to say for sure but it looks like a Singer 71-30 buttonhole machine. Quote Bob Kovar Toledo Industrial Sewing Machine Sales Ltd. 3631 Marine Rd Toledo,Ohio 43609 1-866-362-7397
Cobra Steve Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Bob's right. It is a Singer 71-30. It is a buttonhole machine. I worked for Singer IPD (Industrial Products Division) from 1978-1984. I used to rebuild those machines. Those were the days! Steve Quote Thank You Steve Tayrien Leather Machine Co., Inc. 2141 E. Members Constabulary Posted October 15, 2013 Author Members Report Posted October 15, 2013 but in the picture they for sure make bar tacks. This is a WWII picture where they put bar tack on helmet chin straps. So seems there was one with a bar tack setup.
