Cyberthrasher Report post Posted October 15, 2013 Well, some people have been waiting a very long time for me to start my seat production. So, here we go This one's not for a special order or anything. I just finally got some time to do one between guitar strap orders. Hopefully it was worth the wait. I know I'm pretty happy with it. Cyberthrasher Report post Posted October 16, 2013 Super looking seat! How did you not dye the parts that aren't dyed? Carefully with lots of deep breaths Seriously though, I use liquid latex as a masking solution. Every time I try tape, it has some kind of effect on the grain. The fluid just peels right off like nothing was ever there.

Cyberthrasher Report post Posted October 17, 2013 what is the mounting post spacing? They're pretty standard, but I'll grab some measurements during lunch. The guy I buy my pans from welded them in on these.
Cyberthrasher Report post Posted October 17, 2013 what is the mounting post spacing? As I thought (but wasn't sure), they are 6" on center for the top/back mounts and 5" down to the forward hinge mount.

RParson Report post Posted October 31, 2013 Liquid latex? Any particular particular brand? I am pretty new to leather work and have tried resist but cant ever seem to get ir right. Thanks fod any advice. Your pan looks super nice by the way!
Cyberthrasher Report post Posted October 31, 2013 The main product that's available is from Woodland Scenics. It's made for model train folks. I only use it to "resist" DYE since most finishes won't block dye at all. When antiquing or staining - Resolene, ClearLac, or RTC work well.
