Ambassador leatheroo Posted October 22, 2013 Ambassador Report Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) Hi guys, i havent posted in a while, so i thought i would share a couple of things i have made lately. The first, is a guitar strap made out of bison with a suede lining. It has a cut out on the back where i have inserted some neoprene and covered it with a piece of chrome leather. The other piece is a simple bangle. I was trying out the new mabling gel from Goods Japan...lots of fun and mess with that product. cheers caroline ps....why do cats always have to investigate everything.... my tonkinese...Google Edited October 22, 2013 by leatheroo Quote
Members walkingH Posted October 23, 2013 Members Report Posted October 23, 2013 On the marbling jell, do you add the dye colors or does it come in different colors? That is so neat. Quote
Members MonicaJacobson Posted October 23, 2013 Members Report Posted October 23, 2013 That guitar strap looks really nice! As does the bangle. I've never heard of the marbling stuff, but it is a really cool effect! Quote
Members Thornale Posted October 23, 2013 Members Report Posted October 23, 2013 The marble effect looks very good ! How do you do that ? Quote
Ambassador leatheroo Posted October 24, 2013 Author Ambassador Report Posted October 24, 2013 Hi guys, the marbling gel is clear....you add dye to it..there is a video on how to use it on youtube cheers Quote
MikeG Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 I love the effect you achieved - May I ask if you died your leather a base color before doing the marbling? If so, do you then let it dry before putting it into the gel? Thanks, Mike Quote
Ambassador leatheroo Posted October 26, 2013 Author Ambassador Report Posted October 26, 2013 no pre dying....the leather was natural to start. cheers Quote
Members Cogs Posted October 26, 2013 Members Report Posted October 26, 2013 Thank you for sharing the gel info, Ambassador! Now I know how to do camouflage on hunting leather! Bill Quote
Members iknowshaun Posted October 28, 2013 Members Report Posted October 28, 2013 That camouflage idea Bill mentioned is actually awesome, i had dismissed the idea of camo leather for hunting knives etc.., this kinda makes it alot more appealing! Thanks Shaun Quote
