jackd942 Report post Posted October 29, 2013 My former boss, the Assistant Police Chief of my local PD, just retired after 34 1/2 years on the job. I started on the PD in 1991 after returning from Desert Storm and he was a Captain at that time. I left at the end of 1998, but we have kept in touch through the years. He was probably the person I respected the most in the department and in general. A truly great man and the department will not be the same without him. I know he will enjoy his retirement, so I decided to make him a holster as a retirement gift. He has a .38 Chiefs Special that he dearly loves, so I made him this pancake with his initials on it. We'll see how he likes it tomorrow... I've really got to do something about the lighting for my photo box:)

Matt Alsaker Report post Posted October 30, 2013 He sounds like a great guy. All the time I get to spend in my shop is relaxing and rewarding, but anytime I get to put together a gift to honor someone else it's a blessing. You've honored your friend well. Nice job. I agree 100 percent Matt, the time in the shop was more of a joy than usual on this one. Thanks benlilly and Haystacker...
