Members jeremyqmartin Posted November 12, 2013 Members Report Posted November 12, 2013 Hi, I'm making a satchel. I've made the strap already and now I need to make the shoulder pad/shoulder protector thing. I get the basic design, but I'm wondering if anyone has some good suggestions as to the type of padding to put inside it. Something durable but also that provides more comfort. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks! Quote
Members ikewineb Posted November 18, 2013 Members Report Posted November 18, 2013 I've never padded a shoulder strap. I've found that the leather breaks in and is quite comfortable. If I were going to pad one, I think I would look at neoprene. Should be able to pick it up at a fabric shop. Quote
Members artycpt Posted November 18, 2013 Members Report Posted November 18, 2013 Only once have i padded a shoulder strap and I used a small thin piece of closed cel foam I had laying around. I covered it with sueded pigskin and sewed it onto the strap. Seemed to work well. Quote
