My Singer 31-15 Restoration Project (True Reflection)

Recommended Posts

Here is a before and after pic of my Singer 31-15 that I recently restored, must worn you it is not a original restore. I have seen the original Singers, don't get me wrong they are beautiful machines in all black and gold accents so I stayed with that concept but went way out there to reflect my style more. I know this may be sacrilege to some of the Singer fanatics but hope you like. Now time to learn how to sew, does anyone have any info on how to use one of these bad boys?....lol...JK

Nothing wrong with that look in my opinion. It just looks like you personalized it a little. I don't think the machine will care. It made the handwheel look smaller, at least it seems like it to me.

One of the nicest Singer 31-15 machines that I've seen belonged to a woman that painted it cherry red and used one of her rodeo trophy buckles to make a new rear inspection cover. To me, it looked really good, so I'm all for customizing. I'm just not very ambitious along those lines. The closest that I've come to it, is painting a snuff can lid gold and putting on the front inspection cover of one of my Singer 29K70 machines. It just added a touch more color, and I didn't have to work very hard. LOL

You have your own 1-of-a-kind machine now. Good job.

Looks good! All that matters really is that you put your time in effort and made it to your taste. The machine must of gotten a good oiling and such. Did you do anything to the table?

thank yoiu both for the compliments

No, I left the table as is for now but I am sure I could get some stuff to hook it up, maybe just decal it out and varnish.
