Teleweezel Report post Posted December 10, 2013 I was given a piece of leather to practice on. It has been sitting around for quite a while. Is there anything I should do to it before practicing on it? Thanks Scott "Teleweezel" Manery
Tree Reaper Report post Posted December 10, 2013 You can tool it but when done put a coat of neatsfoot oil on it prior to finishing. Allow the oil to dry at least 24 hours before finishing.

Do you know there are differant kinds of leather, they do not interchange when tooling.
Teleweezel Report post Posted December 11, 2013 Hi Electrathon. Yup I'm a total nubie...I am going to use this leather to practice stamping and tooling. It was free so I literally have nothing to lose...LOL. I have no idea what this leather is...it's really dry and cracks quite easily when I bend it. Oh well...I'm learning.
