Using Neatsfoot Oil During Winter

Recommended Posts

Ok this might be a stupid question but I'm going to ask it anyways. I started putting a coat of oil on my projects and sticking them in the sun for a while. I love the color I get. Now that winter has set in is there any tricks to get that same color. Thanks

Heat lamp, not too long. You will need to test for distance from bulb to you leather. We have a food warmer, works great.

Same here...heat lamp. And I've been keeping my oil in the house where it's not 50 degrees like my shop. I take my pieces in, stick them under the lamp and apply the oil in the toasty house.

Haven't tried it bigorange...I always apply after the spirit dye has dried for at least a day.
