Rachael Report post Posted January 10, 2014 Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to customize a pair of cowboy boots? And if so what are my options? I love the customized boots I see online, but I want to use them and not worry about runing a $1,000 pair of boots. I just want to add either my initials and/or a design of some sort. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank-you, Rachael
camano ridge Report post Posted January 10, 2014 The problem with anything finished is that it usualy does not take well to stamping or carving, Because it's finished. However there are things you may be able to do to make them truly custom and one of a kind. Such ase stitching to make initials, kind of like embroidery. You could also cut a piece to the size and shape you want tool it stamp on initials burnish the edges and stitch on to the boot in the place and position you want. If done well it willl look good depending on the boot you start with. DO you have the boots npow and if so can you post a picture it would help people with making suggestions. Dwight Report post Posted January 10, 2014 There are some models of sewing machines, . . . that have enough neck to get down in the barrel of a boot, . . . and can sew on a patch, . . . or if the sewer is relatively inventive, . . . they may be able to add a floral or initial design for you. OR, . . . you can get an awl, . . . some needles, . . . and go at it if stitching will suffice for what you want to do. Best wishes, . . . may God bless, Dwight
Rachael Report post Posted January 11, 2014 Thanks so much for your comments! I've been looking for a pair of vintage hand made cowboy (buckaroo) boots, but have had no luck in finding a pair in my size. The problem with the boots I find, is I can't find one that has a plain shaft, they all have decorative stitching. I might settle on these: http://www.rods.com/tan-and-brown-stove-pipe-3r-buckaroo-by-tony-lama-9.html or http://www.rods.com/ladies-3r-pink-top-buckaroo-tony-lama-boots.html While I won't copy this design, I LOVE these custom boots http://www.pinterest.com/pin/220394975488468425/
